OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR

LOCATION OF POSITION

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

 

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan to ensure that RSPO’s communications, stakeholder engagement and market development is strategic, coherent and global in reach, in order to strengthen the organization’s reputation and increase the uptake of RSPO-Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO).

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication

  • Creating and developing annual strategic communication plans as well as policy development and/or positioning in multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization and to work with the communication staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
  • Serve as lead point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization and actively cultivate and manage press relationships to ensure coverage of issues of strategic importance to the sector

Global Outreach

  • Develop a deep understanding of the diverse global landscape and the community organizations to enhance RSPO’s understanding of community needs regarding regulating strategies and policy oversight.
  • Lead the RSPO’s "Intermediary Organisations Outreach" programmes in South East Asia, Africa and Latin America aimed at capacity building and sustainable development socialisation within local communities and grassroot NGOs in these regions.
  • To develop and implement strategies for market development for the updake of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil. 

Other Functions

  • Oversee trademark and claims compliance, including new and ongoing intellectual property registration for RSPO trademarks globally.
  • To build and lead a team promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality 

 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

The Director of Outreach & Engagement must have at least 10 years of experience in the area of Communications, Outreach experience & Market Development preferably in a leadership role within a complex non- profit entity.

The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages whilst disseminating it in the right language and to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.

GRIEVANCE EXECUTIVE

LOCATION OF POSITION

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

 

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The Grievance executive will provide on-going support to the Complaints team in managing the complaints process effectively, to ensure that complaints are appropriately recorded, coordinated and ensuring that responses are quality checked and monitored in line with RSPO’s service standards.

The Executive will also contribute towards achieving the RSPO goals by accepting ownership in delivering all assigned tasks, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Whilst having a global perspective, the incumbent will have primary responsibilities for Indonesia within the framework of the RSPO Complaints Unit work plans.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Grievance, the incumbent will be responsible for

  • Supporting the Grievance Manager in coordinating and facilitating the work of the Complaints and Appeals Panels, including in organizing related meetings and ensuring timely delivery of required documentations and implementation of the Panels’ decisions. This shall include minuting and circulating the Complaints Panel and other complaints related meeting agenda and minutes.
  • Enlighten members on the steps required in proceeding with a grievance. (This may require the production of appropriate general communications materials as well as direct involvement at the embryonic stage of a grievance or complaint)
  • Ensuring that all complaints related information is updated in the database and is consistently updated;
  • Updating relevant parties with necessary information as and when required.
  • Supporting the Grievance Manager in initial investigations and diagnostic process.
  • Attending and supporting external stakeholder meetings as and when required.
  • Working with and supporting the Dispute Settlement Facility (DSF) Manager as and when required.

 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

A Bachelors’ degree in Law, Conflict Management and other related disciplines with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in handling relevant issues.

STANDARD DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (INDONESIA)

LOCATION OF POSITION

Jakarta, Indonesia

 

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The Standard Development Manager will be responsible to assist in the development and implementation of sustainability standards, procedures and guidelines for RSPO in Indonesia.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support and keep track of standard development activities and review on RSPO Principle and Criteria and Supply Chain Certification in Indonesia including the necessary National Interpretation or harmonization documents.
  2. Develop industry thought leadership from various sources such as Government Agencies, Palm Oil Association, Educational Institutions for knowledge sharing of best practice to the members and general public.
  3. Communicate and engage with relevant stakeholders, including companies, government offices in relation to RSPO’s multi-stakeholder model for standard development process.
  4. Ensure adequate communication and socialization of newly developed and/or revised RSPO standards, procedures and guidance to RSPO members and other relevant stakeholders in Indonesia.
  5. Support and organize RSPO events that relate to standard development process including the development of Indonesia National Interpretation and similar document that support RSPO standard document.

 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  • Minimum a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Management, Agribusiness or Agriculture industry; Forestry or Environmental science or it’s equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience, with sound experience in a standard development organization with good communication skills.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Global Outreach & Engagement Director, you will be responsible for

  1. Engagement & Outreach with Key stakeholders – Government Agencies, Manufacturers, Retailers and Media.
  2. Devising And Managing Communications Strategy And Activities.
  3. Development of communication materials & platforms.
  4. Deal and coordinate with communications partners.
  5. Lead and support the RSPO in identifying key areas of potential threats to the organisation in the specific market.
  6. Device and deploy a marketing plan for the Trademark based on in-market conditions.
  7. Identify and participate in conferences and platforms that are strategic to the RSPO mandate.
  8. Be the spokesperson for the RSPO with all stakeholder engagements from members, media, policy markers, conferences etc.

 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  • Minimum a Bachelors’ Degree in Mass Communications / International relations or it’s equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years experience in External communications function. Preferably you should have experience working in Not-for-profit/ Agribusiness industries. With excellent communication skills, you should also have a proven track record of working with international stakeholders and should have a very good understanding of Online and Social media platforms.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

LOCATION OF POSITION

Kuala Lumpur

 

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The successful candidate will support the Head of Assurance, Assurance Director, RSPO Standing Committee on Trade and Traceability (T&TSC) and other relevant working groups, task forces established to make decision and provide guidance on matters related to RSPO supply chain certification. 

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head of Assurance, you will be responsible for

  1. Support and keep track of Assurance developments related to the RSPO supply chain certification system.
  2. Support and keep track of developments related to the RSPO IT Trading platform providers, UTZ, by providing maintenance of updated record on palm oil trade, linking to RSPO salesforce.
  3. Develop, review and maintain the information in the RSPO website related to RSPO supply chain certification.
  4. Provide on-going support for the supply chain actors looking for certification.
  5. Provide on-going support to the accredited certification bodies to conduct supply chain certifications.
  6. Manage and maintain information and record keeping through implementation of salesforce program and make it readily available for internal and external use.
  7. Manage and coordinate activities undertaken for T&T SC and its sub group.
  8. Apart from the duties stated above, the supply chain manager is required to perform any duty or duties reasonably assigned by the Head of Assurance, RSPO Directors, chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer.

BIODIVERSITY EXECUTIVE

LOCATION OF POSITION

Kuala Lumpur

 

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The successful candidate will support the Biodiversity Manager in the implementation of activities and facilitate RSPO members’ compliance on the Remediation and Compensation Procedure (RaCP).

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Biodiversity Manager, you will be responsible for

  1. Serve as the point of contact for remediation and compensation related issues in the RSPO.
  2. Deliver high quality and effective service to RSPO grower members to process all remediation and compensation related documents.
  3. Collect, check and ensure the completeness of the submissions made (Disclosure, LUC Analysis and Compensation Plan) and take pro-active actions to follow-up on progress of clarification submission, reviews/evaluations and endorsement of compensation projects.
  4. Develop and maintain strong intra and inter-departmental functional relationship in the RSPO Secretariat on matters related compliance in LUCA and/or Compensation matters (e.g. Assurance unit, Membership Unit, Smallholder Division).
  5. Coordinate external service providers for compensation related activities.
  6. Meets timeline for the delivery of reviews / evaluations.
  7. Analyze data and assist in the preparation of reports related to remediation and compensation activities and share updates with the Secretariat and Biodiversity and High Conservation Value Working group (BHCVWG)
  8. Assist in the compilation, design and dissemination of information materials including for posting on the RSPO website.
  9. Assist Biodiversity Manager in the management and operation of BHCVWG and relevant Task Forces/ panel established.
  10. Assist in the research and collation of inputs to the RSPO Secretariat / Biodiversity Manager / Standard Development Director and the BHCVWG on emerging issues, events and research relevant to oil palm sector.
  11. Apart from the duties stated above, Compensation Executive is required to perform any duties assigned by the Biodiversity Manager or the Standard Development Director.

  • Minimum a Bachelors’ Degree in relevant fields e.g. environmental science/management, GIS, natural resource management

The successful candidate will be responsible to manage and execute RSPO’s outreach, engagement and market development activities in the "ASEAN 9" region.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Global Outreach & Engagement Director, you will be responsible for

  1. Engagement & Outreach with Key stakeholders – such as Manufacturers, Retailers and NGOs in order to build partnerships aimed at increasing the uptake of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil in the region, through the promotion of the mandate and commitment of the RSPO.
  2. Deal and coordinate with communications partners and to work closely where appropriate and necessary to ensure the intelligence from the partner agencies is ultimately transferred internally.
  3. Lead and support the RSPO in identifying key areas of potential threats to the organisation in the specific market.
  4. In collaboration with RSPO's Communication Managers, develop localised materials that are relevant and helpful to the various stakeholders identified above.
  5. Device and deploy a marketing plan for the RSPO Trademark based on in-market conditions.
  6. Identify and participate in conferences and platforms that are strategic to the RSPO mandate.

MEMBERSHIP MANAGER

LOCATION OF POSITION

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The Membership Manager will oversee membership systems and processes ensuring effective running of the day-to-day operations within the Membership Unit, including management of all relevant databases and information pertaining to membership, whilst seeking to strengthen membership engagement via continuous improvements, and providing the necessary support to the RSPO Secretariat on all membership related issues.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To ensure effective daily operations of the Membership Unit, ensuring adherence to all documented procedures and processes, whilst being responsible for providing good and effective responses to all member queries.
  2. To periodically review and improve the membership systems and processes, ensuring that the membership unit is consistently functioning efficiently and effectively.
  3. To maintain the RSPO membership database and produce monthly membership reports for internal and external stakeholders, including analysis of membership data and trends, and recommendations to meet membership goals.
  4. To develop a strategy with the aim of supporting the goals of RSPO’s Theory of Change.
  5. To strategically create and produce appropriate content for the diverse membership components and communication channels (print, online and electronic), in collaboration with relevant departments.
  6. Oversee the administration of ACOP and to work with the relevant departments to develop and execute a strategy to improve member commitment towards making sustainable palm oil the norm.
  7. To manage the entire spectrum of the RSPO General Assembly (GA), including management of resolutions and nominations to the Board of Governors proposed by members and the e-voting process.

SENIOR EXECUTIVE ~ DATA MANAGEMENT

LOCATION OF POSITION

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The Senior Executive ~ Data Management will be responsible for the management of data and intelligence from the RSPO membership including planning, preparation, implementation and reporting of all relevant data.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage data and intelligence from the RSPO membership, which includes planning, preparation and implementation of ACOP, in collaboration with other relevant departments.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders, primarily the RSPO membership, to identify critical data and intelligence required for progress and actionable insights to be effectively charted.
  • Analyze members data to identify outliers, missing, incomplete, and/or invalid data, and ensure highest data accuracy from members.
  • Managing the database including data quality assurance and most importantly measuring and evaluating members’ progress.
  • Assist in the development of analytic tools and ‘report card’ system to build the analytics platform.

 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  • Minimum university degree, preferably in computer science, economics, statistics, mathematics or data related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in statistics, economics, computer science or data related fields.
  • Good knowledge of statistics and strong command of Spreadsheet (MS Excel) and/or Statistical Language (SPSS).
